Located in the chaotic basement restaurant zone of Parco Department Store, this is a tourist-friendly branch of a highly rated spice curry shop in Ebisu. The tasty curries here are heavily seasoned but not too fiery, and attractively presented with colorful garnishes. We recommend the three-curry plate, which will give you a chance to try out a range of contrasting flavors.
There are four regular curries rather than daily or monthly specials, and they're all quite distinctive. The choices are squid-tomato-mozzarella, butter chicken, bean-spinach, and Lu Rou Fan (Taiwanese braised pork), each of them hearty and substantial.
Curries are served with yellow rice, fresh greens, and garnishes like diced apples and pickled red cabbage. You can also add on optional toppings - bacon, eggplant, cheese, coriander, boiled egg - and ask for extra rice for a small additional charge. Mix the curries together or take alternating bites as you wish.
The drinks list features regular and mango lassis, regular and rum chai, melon and peach cream sodas, lemon sours, and draft lager. The attractive blond-wood counter is comfortable, and there are a handful of tables to accommodate groups. They've got some English-speaking staff, and menus are bilingual. Unlike many curry shops, they stay open all afternoon, so you can pop in for a late lunch or early dinner at your convenience.
