If you're familiar with Japanese spice curry shops, the dishes at Cinnamon Garden will look and taste familiar, as spice curry is strongly influenced by Sri Lankan recipes and cooking styles. The spices here are sourced by the chef's mother, who lives in Sri Lanka, and the resulting flavors are rich and deep.
You can order chicken curry or the daily special as part of a combo plate, along with dal, basmati rice and a spread of six side items to mix with the rice. They also serve chicken biryani in limited quantities, and there's a selection of Sri Lankan snacks and desserts at dinnertime.
The restaurant is on the second floor of an older, restaurant-packed building in Yotsuya's entertainment district, in a typical curry shop space furnished with counters and small tables.
