Deux Mil serves solid, modern French cuisine in a pretty dining room. The atmosphere is quiet but not stuffy. And sometimes that's exactly what you're looking for, whether you're having a low-key family celebration or just a Saturday-afternoon splurge after a long week.
Prices are very reasonable for the high quality of the food and the upscale setting. Prix-fixe dinners start at Y10,000 (for five courses), while weekend/holiday lunches start at Y6,000 (for four courses). The prix-fixe menus generally give you a choice of meat or fish for your main dish, so you might want to check what's on offer ahead of time if you're a picky eater.
The hors d'oeuvre course features a sumptuous selection of seasonal delicacies, piled high on the plate - nothing overly dainty here. The mixed dessert platter also delivers a good variety of flavors in indulgent quantities.
Deux Mil's wine program is fairly strong, with more than 100 different wines from France, California, Australia and Germany. Wines start at around Y1,500 per glass or Y6,500 per bottle, though you can spend more.
Note that there's a minimal dress code (no shorts, sandals, etc.) and children must be middle-school age or older. Reservations are recommended. The restaurant is located on the sixth floor of the Tokyo Dome Hotel, with a view of the stadium and the adjacent amusement park.
