Torishige (Toranomon: Yakiton)
Torishige
Open 4-10pm (LO). Closed Sundays.

Chicken parts and pork organ meats, grilled on skewers over charcoal, are the specialty of this long-running shop, and they do an excellent job preparing them. The grilled venison - tender and very flavorful - is highly recommended, as is the liver (their best seller). Other crowd pleasers include stuffed bell peppers (complemented by Torishige's signature sauce) and chicken tsukune (meatballs).

Torishige's sake list is small but well assembled and reasonably priced. Note that they don't serve rice or side dishes to fill up on, but there are plenty of choices among the other shops in the surrounding Toranomon Yokocho restaurant complex after you've had drinks and skewers here. Budget around Y4,000-5,000 per person for food and drink.
