The tiny original branch of Toyoda's in Hatagaya makes the best Philadelphia-style cheesesteak sandwiches in town, so the opening of a larger branch in Takadanobaba is a welcome development.

Cheesesteak - the main purpose of your visit here - comes in either hoagie or sandwich format (the hoagie includes vegetables), with your choice of provolone or mixed cheese. American-style barbecue is the other specialty, and they do a credible pulled-pork sandwich, which you can liven up with some of the BBQ sauce and pepper sauce available at the counter.

Sandwiches come on their own or in combination with cheese-smothered fried potatoes and soft drinks, and take-out service is available all day long.
