Cider Shack is one of a handful of spots in Tokyo where you can find craft cider, both on draft and by the bottle. Along with ciders from England and Nagano Prefecture, they also serve craft beers (mainly from Japanese breweries TDM1874 and Daisen G), with three taps devoted to cider and five to beer.

Several refrigerated cabinets at the front end of the shop are stocked with a good selection of cans and bottles as well. These include several varieties of perry (pear cider) - an unusual find in Tokyo.

The bar has a friendly neighborhood vibe, and it can fill up early in the evening. When we visited in late summer some customers were enjoying their drinks outside. There's a small food menu, but the main draw is definitely the cider and beer (and perry).

Prices average around Y1,200 and Y1,400 for medium- and large-size glasses of draft cider. Unlike many Tokyo craft beer bars, sometimes the bottles and cans here end up being cheaper than what's on tap, so it's worth taking your time to check out what's in the refrigerators.
