The choice of soup base is an important part of the soup-curry experience, and Sama offers a wider selection than most, with umami-rich bases like coconut, shrimp, and shrimp-soy milk as well as the more standard tomato-based soup. Sama also has an excellent version of pork kakuni as one of its main curry options, and it's highly recommended.

There are several soup-curry variations exclusive to this branch, including one with diced pork, natto and cheese. You can specify spiciness levels from zero to thirty, choose from 27 optional toppings, and opt for large-size, regular, small and zero portions of rice. Beers from North Island, one of Hokkaido's best craft breweries, are Y850 per bottle for pilsner, weizen or brown ale.
