This friendly neighborhood sandwich shop in out-of-the-way Kaigan serves the best pastrami in town, along with espresso-barbecue pork, crunchy chicken, and aged-beef menchi-katsu sandwiches and "Classic Pure Burgers." The pastrami is thick-cut and fatty, with a rich smoky flavor, and comes with optional toppings like jalapenos, avocado, cheddar and gruyere.
The dining room is small but comfortably laid out, and much bigger than their original location in Asakusabashi. Like the earlier incarnation, the soundtrack here veers towards '90s hiphop and R&B. There's some outdoor seating in front of the shop, and you can get take-out sandwiches at the dedicated take-out window.
Sandwiches start at around Y1000, and double-size fillings or additional slabs of pastrami can be ordered if you're extra hungry. There's caramel pudding and chocolate brownies if you want something sweet, and drinks include home-made lemonade and ginger ale, espresso beverages and Dr. Pepper, wine and beer.
The shop is open all afternoon on weekends. They're located 12 minutes from JR Tamachi Station, or 7 minutes from Shibaurafuto Station (Yurikamome line).
