Eki-ben - bento boxes sold at train stations that incorporate regional dishes or special local ingredients - have a long tradition in Japan. Celebrating that tradition, this very popular shop inside Tokyo station sells 170 different eki-ben from various stations throughout Japan - all freshly prepared.
For those who have trouble choosing, the shop lists the top-ranked bento by popularity - grilled Yonezawa beef from Yamagata, seafood omelettes from Niigata, and beef tongue from Sendai are at the top of the list.
