Filled with colorful mismatched sofas and comfortable chairs, this all-day cafe is a fun place to relax over a cup of coffee, a slice of pie or a burger. The smash burgers here are meaty and coarsely textured, served with sauteed onions, shoestring fries and optional toppings (including macaroni and cheese). Burritos and rice plates round out the menu.

Hand-drip coffee is from the long-running Evian coffee shop in nearby Ashiya, established in 1967. American-style pies come with apple, cherry and pecan fillings, and there are pancakes as well.

In addition to the sprawling main dining area there are a few smaller nooks and some outdoor courtyard seating. The location is convenient for sightseeing if you're visiting the aquarium at the Kobe Port Museum, Kobe Port Tower or the Kobe City Museum. Lunch is served until 4pm.
