Sobameshi is a unique local dish that originated in the Nagata district of Kobe in the 1950s, and it's one of the specialties of this shop. The name describes a mix of yakisoba (fried wheat noodles) and yaki-meshi (fried rice), which are chopped up and prepared together on an iron grill along with beef tendon, shredded cabbage and seasonings. It's eaten with an okonomiyaki-style sauce, with four varieties - ranging from sweet to super-spicy - to choose from.

Sobameshi goes well with a side order of gyoza dumplings, which are a bit sweeter than average here. Other popular items from the grill are yakisoba, okonomiyaki, and fried oyster dishes, all of which come in numerous variations based on ingredients and toppings. Drinks include shochu cocktails, beer and house wines. (Note that menus and service are in Japanese only.)
