Catering to coffee connoisseurs, Tokyo-based Glitch Coffee is the kind of shop where you're invited to sniff the beans before you order a cup. Most single-origin hand-drip coffees are priced at around Y1,000, though some rare finds can be quite a bit more expensive. A regular old cafe latte is Y600 if that's all you want. There was only one type of pastry when we visited but it hit the spot.

Seating is at big communal tables, or on low-slung benches out front. The shop occupies the lobby of a fancy capsule hotel so there are plenty of guests coming and going if you enjoy people watching. Thanks to the hotel connection, they usually have English-speaking staff on hand.
