A Nagoya outpost of a popular Honolulu shop, Yummy offers a typical Hawaiian-format menu (plate lunches, garlic-rice bowls, multiple side dishes, malasada donuts) from a Korean perspective. Whether you call it "Honolulu Korean" or "Korean-style Hawaiian", it's a welcome taste of home for Hawaiians in Nagoya.
If you're getting a Plate, you can choose from one or two main items like beef kalbi, crunchy deep-fried garlic shrimp, garlic chicken, pork and sausage. After you've picked your main(s), load up with four side items from the deli case. There are numerous options like macaroni salad, mashed potatoes, chili beans, sesame-dressed nanohana namul and more, served in decent-sized portions.
Alternative rice-based meals include loco moco, taco rice, curry rice and bibimbap. Whatever you order, optional toppings are available to customize your plate.
Drinks include Kona craft beer and fruit-flavored Hawaiian sodas. There's no table service, so you'll need to pick up your order when your number is called, and bus your table when you're done.
Yummy also has two other branches in Nagoya, and all of them have delivery service as well as take-out.
