Suzunami (Esca)
Open 11am-2:30, 4:30-9pm (LO) daily.
Sun: Open Sundays

Broiled sablefish (gindara), marinated in sake lees, is the unusual specialty of this popular Nagoya-based shop. You can order it as a simple teishoku meal, with soup, pickles and rice, or as part of a larger set menu with side dishes like sashimi, chawan mushi and seasonal vegetable dishes. Prices are surprisingly inexpensive.

This branch of Suzunami is located in the basement Esca complex at the west exit of the JR Nagoya Shinkansen line.
