Thrash Zone is one of Japan's better craft-beer brewers, specializing in strong, hoppy IPAs and other "extreme beers." This second branch of the Thrash Zone bar (open since mid-April 2016) serves a line-up of their own creations, plus an equal number of assertive US beers from brewers like Bear Republic and Sierra Nevada.
The setting is minimal but relatively comfortable, the music is all thrash metal, and the food is...meatballs. These are are made from a good, lean cut of meat, well spiced and topped with a feisty Provolone cheese. Meatballs come in three different portion sizes (from Y400 for four), or on a meatball sub, and they go very well with the beers here.
This book will introduce you to more than twenty of Japan's favorite specialty foods that are less well known abroad, along with a guide to the best places in Tokyo to try them and expert tips on what to order. From Bento.com.
