Breakfast at Andersen, the long-running Danish-style cafe-restaurant, is a simple affair. No fancy Eggs Florentine or Cajun Crab Cakes, just plain old eggs and bacon. What makes them special though is their excellent bread basket - nearly a dozen different varieties of bread, Danish pastries and croissants fresh from the ovens of their flagship bakery, located just downstairs.

The macadamia nut-currant bread is our favorite, with butter and a dab of berry jam from the jampot on the table. Besides all the bread you want, the Y1350 Andersen breakfast includes your choice of an egg dish with bacon or sausage, along with refillable coffee or tea and miniscule side dishes - a tiny portion of salad, a baby cup of yogurt with bits of fruit and a miniature glass of juice (we found the tomato-lemon quite refreshing).

The setting is bright and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Omotesando crossing below. Breakfast is served from 7:30-11am on weekdays and 8:30-11am on weekends. Sunday mornings seem to be a popular time for families with kids.
