Mexican and Tex-MexShinjuku -- El Borracho. 3354-7046 Tasty Japanese-style Mexican food, small portions, miniscule tables, and a very lively atmosphere (as you'd expect from a place named "The Drunkard").[feedback] Nishi-Shinjuku -- El Patio. 3363-6931 Catering to "Latin fans", they present live music almost every night of the week, with shows at 8, 9, and 10pm.[feedback] Nishi-Shinjuku 7-1-8. Open 6-10:30pm (LO). Closed Sundays, some Monday.
Harajuku -- Tacos del Amigo. 3405-9996 Deplorably bad food and questionable sanitary conditions; people seem to go mainly for the margaritas, which are served in fishbowl-sized glasses.[feedback]

They bill themselves as a "Latinic Diner", serving food and drink from Mexico, South America, the Caribbean and Spain. In early evenings the place fills with a lively after-work crowd, with more students in the mix (Nichibei langauge school is just next door) as the night wears on and the salsa music picks up volume. [See FULL REVIEW.][feedback] Splendid food, with generous portions. The decor is on the casual side, featuring exotic musical instruments and burlap bags, and tables are spaced widely enough to provide a little privacy. There's a good selection of salsa on the stereo, a large drinks menu, and they're open late.[feedback]
