The highlight of this mid-sized prefectural antenna shop is probably their big selection of Miyagi-ken sake - some fifty or sixty varieties on sale in the second-floor liquor area. Down on the ground floor you'll find lots of natto, pouches of tongue stew and tongue curry, and a small beef-tongue restaurant at the back of the shop.

The smallest of the four Hokkaido antenna shops in Tokyo, this branch is located at the north end of the ISP underground shopping complex next to Ikebukuro station. There's the usual dried fish, frozen seafood and dairy products, along with various flavors of ramen and soup curry, and novelty caramel candies in flavors like Hokkaido butter, condensed milk, melon and corn.

There's also a great selection of pottery and other local handicrafts. A cafe-restaurant area behind the shop serves full meals.

Niigata is well known for its sake, and this large prefectural antenna shop carries over 100 varieties, with many available in 300ml mini-bottles and one-cup sizes. This medium-sized prefectural antenna shop carries a good selection of sake from Akita as well as assorted local foods - mountain vegetables, pickles, and kiritambo (grilled pounded-rice cylinders). The attached restaurant in back serves regional Akita cuisine, although the food can be hit or miss.

Tokyo Ai Land (Kaigan - Antenna shop). 5472-6559
Located inside the ship terminal building, this small antenna shop and restaurant specializes in the food and drink of the group of tropical islands directly south of Tokyo, which are offically part of Tokyo Prefecture. The shop area sells several types of shochu and rum from the islands as well as artisanal salt, frozen fish, jam, and seaweed products. You can order grilled shellfish, pork cutlets and other izakaya fare in the restaurant, as well as pizzas and pastas.

This dual-purpose prefectural antenna shop showcases the agricultural and other products of both Tottori and Okayama prefectures. You'll find the usual assortment of fresh produce, frozen seafood, and quite a bit of sake from small local producers. Upstairs on the second floor is a small cafe serving local dishes.

Run jointly by two of the four prefectures located on the island of Shikoku, this fairly large antenna shop sells groceries on the first floor and prepares udon noodles and local seafood dishes in the second-floor all-day restaurant (03-5537-2684). An impressive selection of local Akita Prefecture sake is the main reason to visit this crowded retail shop, one of a dozen antenna shops located in the same building. They also sell ready-made kits for preparing kiritambo - a type of nabe stew famous in the region - as well as rice and rice cakes, chicken meatballs, pear and grape juices, natto, pickles, honey, miso and black garlic.

This large and very busy prefectural antenna shop offers a good selection of Hokkaido specialty foods, such as a full range of Royce chocolates (including their "nama" refrigerated varieties); freshly made croquettes in assorted flavors; roast corn; corn-flavored chocolates; soup curry and "white curry"; yogurts, ice cream and other dairy items; wines; and tomato juices.

Some of the specialty foods at this tiny prefectural antenna shop include frozen akashiyaki (a local variation on takoyaki), frozen pork buns, and charcoal-grilled sardines. There are three types of Akashi craft beers on sale, but less sake than you might expect.

Food products from Wakayama Prefecture are the specialty here - fresh vegetables, dried sardines, frozen seafood, honey, several types of vinegar, and a lot more. There's a good amount of umeshu and a few types of craft beer but not much sake.

Sake, fresh produce and specialty foods from Ibaraki Prefecture are on sale at this large antenna shop; they also serve regional food and drink in the attached bar-restaurant (03-5524-0827). You'll also find around a dozen craft beers, including eight Hitachino Nest beers from Kiuchi Brewery, as well as tomato liqueurs, garlic sembei crackers, prepared chestnut curries and soups, gruyere cheese curries and sweets, and melon cider.

Food specialties of Yamagata Prefecture are sold here, including giant bags of rice, some odd-looking eggplants, and crunchy rusk in flavors like blueberry, chocolate and garlic. There's a fair amount of sake, but less than we expected; they also offer a good selection of wines. Up on the second floor is a restaurant serving regional cuisine (03-5250-1755).

One of the largest single-prefecture antenna shops in Tokyo, this four-story shop sells a big selection of food and drink as well as other local Hiroshima products. There's a regional-cuisine restaurant in the basement, an Italian restaurant (showcasing Hiroshima ingredients) on the third floor, an okonomiyaki counter on the second floor and a cafe space on the first floor. A huge selection of craft sake from Ishikawa Prefecture is sold in the basement of this three-story shop - well over 100 varieties, including some two dozen sakes in convenient one-cup serving sizes. The basement also houses a budget-friendly dining counter where you can order a five-item set menu of Western dishes featuring local Ishikawa ingredients for just Y1500. Local food and drink from Kumamoto Prefecture are sold here, and highlights include frozen horsemeat sashimi (Y580 for 70g); fresh ginger, yams and kabosu; and a good assortment of shochu, including small-size bottles. Aomori Prefecture Tokusanhin Center (Shintomicho - Antenna shop). 5540-7311
You'll find apples and apple products, pears and garlic, fresh wasabi and many types of pickles at this Aomori prefectural shop. There's not too much sake however - the much larger Aomori antenna shop in Iidabashi is a better bet if you're looking for something specific.

Iwate Ginga Plaza (Higashi-Ginza - Antenna shop). 3524-8282
This rather expansive prefectural specialty shop sells everything from crabmeat, uni and ikura bento boxes at the front entrance to mochi rice cakes, Iwate beef and dairy products. There's a respectable sake selection as well as craft beers from three different local breweries (Zumona, Baeren, and Iwate Kura). The shop closes at 5pm on the last day of the month.

More than thirty types of sake from Gunma Prefecture are available at this small antenna shop. You can also find fresh garlic and shiitake mushrooms, sembei crackers and pickles, and a few local wooden crafts, but the selection is limited.

This tiny antenna shop sells goods from Sado Island in Niigata, including artisanal salts, various lemon products (lemon pepper, lemon furikake, marmalade and juice), "deep-sea water" (don't worry, it's not salty), and sake from a few local breweries.

Kyoto Kan (Yaesu - Antenna shop). 5204-2260
Unlike most antenna shops, this one devotes almost all its space to crafts, with only a tiny section for local food and drink products. These include some two dozen types of sake, packaged candies and sweets, vinegar, miso, pickles and fu (wheat gluten). They also offer a "tea ceremony experience course" under the guidance of a professional instructor; the experience takes twenty minutes and costs Y500.

This huge, garishly lit shop is a veritable supermarket of Hokkaido food and drink. The dairy section is especially well stocked, with a bewildering variety of cheeses, lots of butter, and something called "wild milk." The nearby drinks corner carries around forty types of sake and roughly the same amount of wine. They also stock the excellent North Island craft beer, with four types priced at Y525 per bottle. Fukushima-ken Yaesu Kanko Koryukan (Yaesu - Antenna shop). 3275-0855
Mostly a tourist information center, this antenna shop sells a fair assortment of Fukushima sake, including small-size bottles, as well as pickles, packaged curries and a few other miscellaneous foods. They also carry a larger-than-usual selection of crafts.

Yamanashi is Japan's most productive winemaking region, and you'll find a good selection of local wines at this prefectural antenna shop, along with specialty food products such as fruit jams and juices. Depending on the season they might offer fresh garlic and grapes, pork sausages and jerky, peach and grape juices, umeboshi, and several types of local craft beer.

Yamaguchi Prefecture is famous for its fugu, and you can buy frozen fugu sashimi here in various sizes (Y980-Y3150) to enjoy at home. Other local products on sale include a good selection of sake, miso, dried fish, fruit jams and fugu- and goldfish-themed toys and novelty items.

The retail section offers a vast selection of food and drink, focusing on regional specialties like soy sauce, miso, rice crackers, tea, sake and quite a lot more.

One of several shops in Tokyo specializing in Hokkaido food products, this antenna shop sells fresh potatoes and onions, dried scallop snacks, frozen fish, instant ramen, chicken soup-curry, and assorted dairy products. There's a big kombu corner, and frozen crabs range from Y3800-7800 depending on size.

More than seventy kinds of local sake are on sale at this large Tochigi prefectural retail shop, along with ciders (apple, pear and strawberry), eight craft beers (Preston and Utsunomiya), and wines. Food specialties include yuba, yuba miso, frozen gyoza dumplings, smoked tofu, fresh ramen, ayu (sweetfish) in a pouch, and fresh asparagus, okra and ginger.
