While you can find a number of bars in the Shinjuku/Yoyogi area serving Belgian, German, and "world" beers, one thing missing until now was a place to drink Japanese microbrews. Filling the gap is Watering Hole, a lively little bar with twenty craft beers, mostly from Japan, served on draft. Prices are about average for this kind of beer, but note that pints are a much better deal here than half-pints.
The bar area is attractive, although table seating can be tight when the shop is busy. The food menu offers simple but very tasty items like mushrooms sauteed with garlic, and fried gyoza dumplings. The shop plans to brew their own beer starting in late 2013.
